Getting Started....

As for getting yourself into the business, it may not be easy for many... First of all you will require some basic knowledge and some good equipment... For me it is more of a hobby than a profession... Its what you must want to do, not what you need to do or do by force... Its not about the money, its about the audience... You should be able to make your crowd like you... There are a lot of things to being a DJ, but if you play music by your specific choice, you wont get too far... you must be able to play what the people at the party want to listen.... It would be weird if you played band music at a dance party, or rock music when people need some hip-hop.... In my case i like to listen to some punjabi once in a while, and some slow songs for the right mood, but it should not be the same scene at an event or a party... Only if the crowd likes hindi music or punjabi, ill put in those numbers for them.... Most DJ's are distinguished, but at the initiation phase you need to be able to play all sorts of music ( including House, Club, Base, Hindi, Hip-Hop, Techno, Rave, Remixes, etc.) so that people recognize you more faster and as for the organizers, with you being a rookie, they get all types and sets of music  at a cheaper rate. Trust me that makes you popular really fast...

A DJ must always show the right attitude and the right mindset when he/she is playing... You must be able to promote yourself very quickly before some one else takes away your scene... If you look around you, every tom dick & harry i know just tires to be a DJ... Playing music from a laptop only does not make you a DJ... Now that 'Virtual DJ' has made it so easy for people to mix and record tracks.... Noobies want to take advantage of it... Trust me, unless you have the skill within you, you wont last too long because playing at small time parties is just the start, only playing tracks one after the other using the 'Fader' is not everything i mean people are going to wanna know weather you have the skill or not....I will be giving out a few mixing techniques in some of my later posts and lots of other useful stuff that can help some new comers because one thing that i hate is "some noob trying to do something with his laptop and some software while the whole party is ruined and people just wanna throw stuff at him" trust me you dont wanna be there coz i've seen many people in that situation... So make sure you practice enough before you play at an event/party, I'ts what i did before playing at my first party....

I know this was a long post but hey, im just "Getting started" ;) I have so much to share.... Hope there are a lot of viewers who find my post's useful.....
